The Splatoon 3 Community Is Currently Losing It Over a Mysterious Mode Called ‘Big Run’

For those who haven’t attended Extremely Online, seeing all the art and messages in Splatsville Square in Splatoon 3 can be confusing if you’re unfamiliar with this week’s meme flavor. Last week’s meme template was a fill-in-the-blank sentence that started with “Full of…”.

All messages this week are about something called “Big Run”.

For a united big run teeth A game mode that was actually announced within Splatoon 3. Mentioned briefly in the Nintendo Direct, It has been confirmed to be an event that occurs “once every few months” where Salmonids, enemies in PvE mode Salmon Run, invade the game’s PvP map.

However, I haven’t experienced it live yet. So perhaps that’s why the Splatoon 3 community, both in-game and on social media, has been fussing over theories that it could be spontaneously announced over Halloween weekend.

Is Splatoon 3’s Big Run Coming Soon?

To be clear, there is no evidence that this actually happens. However, some community members speculate that there may be, based on the fact that there hasn’t been a Halloween-themed splatfest like there was in previous Splatoon games. In fact, there were no festivals at all during October. The last time he did was the launch of his festival in late September, and a Pokémon-themed festival is currently planned for mid-November. One popular theory about the lack of Splatfest in October is that many players had connection issues at the last Splatfest and the low appearance rate of the new Tricolor Turf War mode meant that Nintendo It’s that we spend extra time behind the scenes tweaking the game. To the imbalance of different teams.

Some fans have also pointed out that if Big Run is anything like Splatfests, SplatNet will not have stage rotation data available during the event. But knowledgeable folks with calendar ahead have discovered that there is actually stage rotation data for the entire week for both Salmon Run and his regular Vs. mode.

Despite this, the Splatoon community embraces Big Run’s intrigue fun. At this point, it’s just more fun to participate in the idea that the Halloween Big Run is real. Several people have created a great fan compilation of his Splatcast announcing the big run. Many of them have a horror movie flavor (in the spirit of Halloween):

Meanwhile, everyone else is leaning into fan theories as to when the big run will take place and what it might entail. Wahoo World was released in Splatoon 3 without a major update from Splatoon 2, and was later shown in Big Run Teases during the direct, so the idea is that there could be a big run event. Used as an in-universe event to permanently change the stage.

Others lean towards memes:

Sadly, it doesn’t look like there will be a big run on Halloween, but I can only assume that every time a big run happens, we’ll have to turn to the right big man to save us.
