This New Switch Controller Revives Nintendo’s Best Controller Ever

Gaming peripheral controller maker NYXI recently announced a new third-party controller for the Nintendo Switch. Not only is the design reminiscent of WaveBird (the best Nintendo controller ever), but the company claims this controller never gets Joy-Con drift.

of NYXI Wizard Wireless Joypad is a wireless controller with an array of customization features including two remappable back buttons, in addition to an interchangeable joystick ring. For example, you can use a round joystick to play a racing game, or put an octagonal joystick circle on your controller to play a fighting game. NYXI says the battery life is around 6.5 hours on a single full charge.

One of the Wizard controller’s biggest selling points is its claim to not suffer from Joy-Con drift. NYXI claims that the wizard can accomplish this because it uses a Hall-effect joystick. For easy context, Hall effect joysticks use a magnetic system. This means the joystick never physically touches the sensor itself. Joy-Con drift is one of the biggest ongoing problems with the Nintendo Switch, and this controller will certainly appeal to those looking for a solution to this problem.

NYXI Wizard is available now on the NYXI website for $69.
