Warner Bros. Discovery Confirms DC FanDome 2022 Isn’t Happening

DC FanDome has been one of the biggest entertainment events in the past two years, but Warner Bros. Discovery is apparently ditching DC’s movie, game, and TV-focused streaming event for at least this year.

DC confirmed DC FanDome will take a break in statement pop verse: “With the return of in-person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is thrilled to be able to engage fans live at numerous Comic-Cons around the world and has no plans for DC FanDome in 2022.”

All DC Movies and Series Affected by the Warner Bros. Discovery Merger

So Warner Bros. Gotham Knights, Black Adam, Shazam! Wrath of the Gods. But with several DC projects postponed or canceled altogether, it’s no surprise that WB Discovery is on hiatus.

The DC FanDome first appeared in 2020 and has shown 2017’s Justice League, The Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman 1984’s “Snyder Cut” to great success. Meanwhile, at DC FanDome 2021, new trailers for The Batman and The Flash debuted.

This year, WB Discovery focused primarily on events such as San Diego Comic-Con, hosting a major panel detailing Black Adam, among other projects. Otherwise, WB Discovery’s presence has been even weaker this year. This is probably because the DCEU itself is in flux in its search for someone like the company’s own Kevin Feige.

In the meantime, WB Discovery is gearing up for the release of Gotham Knights, which recently had its release date changed to October 21st. You can check out the exclusive preview via IGN here.
