Warner Music Group has partnered with OpenSea to enable artists to engage with their fan base through NFT.

The September 29 announcement said that “select WMG artists” will be able to “build and grow their fan communities on web3.”

Selected artists will be given access to new ‘drop products’, increased visibility and personalized landing pages on the OpenSea website. OpenSea also offers “dedicated support” for WMG artists. This is not available to all content creators on the platform.

Artists selected by WMG will be given a “dedicated drop page to host limited edition projects,” giving fans more opportunities to interact with their favorite musicians.

WMG Chief Digital Officer Oana Ruxandra said:

“Fundamental to the DNA of music is community. It’s about artists and fans coming together to celebrate the music they love. and help foster these communities by building opportunities to establish ownership.”

The first collection to be released by WMG on the OpenSea platform will be available through Warner Records UK division. probably nothing.

Warner Music is no newcomer to web3, and OpenSea’s “collaboration is the latest in a series of efforts to build the expertise of music companies in the space.”

The more popular entry of traditional music companies into the web3 arena could be seen as a milestone in NFT adoption, providing a way for artists to receive royalties directly from their work.
