What to Expect at Computex 2023

CES in January is the world’s most famous technology trade show, but when it comes to PC hardware, Computex Taipei is more important. This year he will run from May 30th to June 2nd, with announcements and demos from major PC OEMs, component makers and chip makers. Taiwan will see some very significant developments as he is home to many companies including Asus, ASRock, Gigabyte, MSI and Acer.

We attend the event and all press conferences in advance so we can share the latest innovations with you directly from the show floor. To check out all the news, check out Computex 2023 Hub.

  • Nvidia Keynote: Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will deliver this year’s Computex keynote. The keynote will take place Monday at 11:00 AM local time (Sunday at 11:00 PM ET). Given that the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti have just been announced, we don’t expect Huang to say much, if any, about consumer GPUs. Instead, he will likely focus on the company’s progress in AI and data centers.
  • new laptop: Acer has already announced two new laptops to be shown at Computex, but MSI, Asus and Gigabyte may also launch PCs. Acer’s already announced Swift Edge 16 uses his Ryzen 7040 chip, so other computers will likely use that processor as well. We also expect to see more laptops with PCIe 5.0 SSDs and RTX graphics inside.
  • Rich PCIe 5.0 SSD: In the past few weeks, the first PCIe 5.0 SSDs have just started hitting the consumer market, but they’re mostly driven by Phison’s E26 controller, reaching up to around 12,000 MBps. A wider range of drives will be on display at Computex, including the TeamGroup T-Force Z54A, which uses the Innogrit IG5666 controller and promises read speeds of up to 14,365 MBps.
  • Enhanced cooling especially for SSDs: These PCIe 5.0 SSDs can get really hot, so expect a lot of crazy active and liquid cooling going on them.Adata reveals project neon storm, with built-in water cooling and dual fans. We also expect to see some interesting new cooling solutions for the ever-increasing heat of CPUs and GPUs.
  • cool case: Computex is always a great time for case debuts. All the big case makers like Lian Li, Cooler Master, and Thermaltake are showing off new products and often special case mods. Thermaltake’s gallery of award-winning casemods is always a highlight of the show.
