Windows 11 to Let You Force Quit Apps From the Taskbar

This happens all the time to Windows users and is very frustrating. Sometimes I am using a program and it suddenly freezes and shows a white translucent layer across the window or screen. Simply closing the rogue app by clicking the X on the window or using the keyboard shortcut Alt+F4 does not work, so there is only one option. to force the program to quit. This is also known as “end task” or “kill task”.

We have a complete tutorial on how to force quit a Windows app, or force quit from the entire OS. However, each current method requires opening a separate menu or app, such as Task Manager or Command Prompt. Microsoft is currently working on an “End Task” option that appears when you right-click on an application’s taskbar icon, allowing you to force quit directly from the context menu.
