Windows 11 Will Make Print Screen Key Open Snipping Tool

After nearly two decades of doing the same thing, Microsoft is reportedly changing the behavior of the keyboard’s Print Screen key in a future build of Windows 11.
In the current version, pressing the Print Screen key takes a screenshot of what is currently displayed on the screen and saves it to the clipboard. This has been the case ever since the Rolling Stones released “Start Me Up” to signal her Windows 95 arrival. Additionally, if you have an active OneDrive account, the Print Screen command will automatically send your captured screenshots to he OneDrive/Pictures/Screenshots folder.
Everything changes with Windows 11 KB5025310, which is currently making the rounds on the Windows Insider Beta Channel. According to Windows latestPressing the Print Screen key invokes Windows 11’s Snipping Tool instead. Snipping Tool is Windows 11’s native screenshot/screen recording tool.
However, thanks to this new behavior,[画面の印刷]will not automatically save the screenshot to your clipboard or OneDrive. Instead, you must first interact with the Snipping Tool and choose whether to capture a screenshot of the entire screen, active window, or rectangular/freeform selection. You can also start a screen recording session from this menu.
Microsoft’s clear intention here is to allow users to interact with the feature-packed Sniping Tool by default. However, I’m sure many seasoned Windows users will scoff at the extra steps associated with the refocused Print Screen key. Of course, Microsoft is also aware of this, so Windows Latest reports that there is a way to revert to the “old” print screen behavior.
Windows 11 users should[設定]->[アクセシビリティ]>[キーボード]just go to . after that,[Print Screen キーを使用して Snipping Tool を開く]button should be off.
It remains to be seen whether longtime Windows users accustomed to the current behavior of the Print Screen key will welcome the upcoming change with open arms. However, Windows 11 users can at least have peace of mind because they can easily undo the changes if they don’t like it.
