Windows Subsystem for Android Gets Update to Android 13

Windows Insiders get their first major update to the Windows Subsystem for Android on Windows 11. Microsoft is stepping up to Android 13 with update 2211.40000.11.0, a new update that applies to all channels.

All other changes are under the hood and deliver improved reliability and performance, including faster startup performance, more stable clipboard, better mouse input and app resizing. The full changelist can be found here: Microsoft blog postor here:

The Windows Subsystem for Android first went into preview last February. This update allows Windows to use the latest version of Google’s OS. When Android app emulation was made available to Windows Insiders, we went into great detail on how to use Android apps on Windows and how to sideload them. This update is available to Insiders in all rings (development, beta, release preview). Some users have already updated to Android 13. Members of the WSA preview program got it towards the end of 2022.
