Xbox Announces Project Amplify, a Scheme to Support Black Youth in the Gaming Industry

Q Muhaimin said, “Growing up, I didn’t really have a vision for my career. I decided to go to college because I thought it was a way to ‘get a good job’ and escape poverty. But even my freshman computer science major had a very shallow knowledge of the opportunities the tech industry offered me.

“Through my college experience and internship, I learned how big the world is—how many companies, careers, and pathways there are to find or create a job you love. I want people to know, nothing is impossible or out of reach for them, and I encourage them to start chasing their passions early.”

“In the early days, I was focused on what to do, not what to do,” said James Lewis.
“It wasn’t until I became an adult that I learned to turn my passion for games into a career. Now I’m extremely grateful to be able to celebrate over 10 years in a dream career. I hope it inspires you to dream and take action.As my coaches and mentors say, ‘Don’t play to lose, play to win.'”

In honor of this new initiative, Xbox will partner with the 2022 Revolt Summit x AT&T to host events on September 24th and 25th to reach students through panels, networking opportunities, and more.
