Comparing the prices of the new generation consoles right now, the Xbox Series X is £449, the PS5 (disc) is £479 and the PS5 (digital) is £389. And while it’s not new generation, the Nintendo Switch is still £249 and the Switch OLED is £319, so it’s definitely a competitor. The Xbox Series S is currently priced at £189.99, significantly cheaper than all of these consoles, and not by much.

At £189.99, £60 off the original list price, for a total of almost 25% off. At first glance, this looks like the perfect Black Friday purchase for any household. It also looks like the perfect gift for avid gamers who haven’t jumped on the Xbox Hype Train so far this year. Plus, if you need an extra controller, you’re running out of Xbox gamepads.
