Gigabyte Launches RTX 4090 Gaming Box That Plugs Into Your Laptop
to the gigabyte launched A new external graphics box for laptops with water-cooled RTX 4090 graphics cards. This box is designed to turn a thin and light laptop into a powerful gaming machine for those who use their laptop as a gaming battle station on the go. The box features Thunderbolt 3/4 connections for connecting the GPU to your laptop, as well as additional USB ports and video out connections.
Gigabyte’s Aorus Core gaming box is a factory overclocked liquid-cooled GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, featuring an Aorus Waterforce 240mm AIO cooling solution that cools the GPU, memory and power delivery system. This cooling solution is equipped with a large copper baseplate for cooling the graphics card components, heavy duty FEP tubes and his two 120mm “silent fans” connected to the radiator.
As a result, the card should have very good thermals to deliver high clock speeds, good overclocking potential, and longevity with reduced temperatures. Gigabyte has not revealed which RTX 4090 model is used in this box, but for obvious reasons it could be a modded Aorus RTX 4090 Xtreme Waterforce.
The box itself measures 189 x 302 x 172 mm and is painted in a mature and beautiful matte black finish accented by a single Aorus RGB logo on the front of the chassis. For ventilation, the box is equipped with vented top, left, and right side panels that allow air to escape and exhaust inside and outside the chassis.
Powering the entire box is an 850 W power supply with an efficiency rating of 90% and four 8-pin PCIe power plugs. Gigabyte hasn’t suggested that the graphics card is user replaceable, but considering the fact that Gigabyte has his PSU with four 8-pins instead of the native 16-pin power plugs. It may be possible.
The Gigabyte 4090 box has a generous amount of rear and front I/O with three Displayport 1.4a connections, one HDMI 2.1a connector, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, an Ethernet port, and Thunderbolt 3 is also included. port (also forward compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 ports). Additionally, there is an additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port on the front. The rear Thunderbolt 3 port supports up to 100W of power delivery, allowing users to charge their laptop while simultaneously using the graphics card and its additional connectivity.
Gigabyte has not disclosed a MSRP or release date for the new Aorus RTX 4090 gaming box. However, Gigabyte’s announcement states that the product has launched, so we should be able to see it here soon.
