As we get closer to the rumored September 15th launch date for AMD’s Ryzen 7000 (Raphael) processors, more and more information is beginning to surface.news media video cards (opens in new tab) has reportedly received packaging and pricing renderings for its next-generation Zen 4 chips. This publication has solid sources, but throwing a little salt on the leaked price is sound.
The premium package is said to be associated with AMD’s high-end Ryzen 9 SKUs, specifically the Ryzen 9 7950X and Ryzen 9 7900X. It’s safe to assume that the packaging for Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 chips will be different. In contrast to the current packaging, the new Ryzen 9 box appears to feature an all-black theme with orange highlights and white text.AMD has reversed the colors of the Zen logo. The circle is now toned black instead of orange. As expected, the box has a small cutout, presumably allowing consumers to see the model of the chip.
The claimed price is the most interesting piece of information VideoCardz has obtained anonymously about the Ryzen 7000. Instead, that person used his current Ryzen 5000’s MSRP as a point of comparison. AMD has announced significant price cuts for the Ryzen 5000 since then, so we’re assuming the leak refers to MSRP at launch rather than current pricing.

The Ryzen 9 7950X and Ryzen 9 7900X will cost more than the Ryzen 9 5950X ($799) and Ryzen 9 5900X ($549) respectively. The leak talks about the Ryzen 7 7800X. The Ryzen 7 7700X appears to be the only Zen 4 processor to retain the same price tag as its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 5700X ($299). Meanwhile, the price of the Ryzen 7 7600X, which is a direct replacement for the Ryzen 5 5600X ($299), remains a mystery.
