AMD’s Aging OEM Quad-Core CPU Finally Debuts at Retail

You may not remember AMD’s Ryzen 3 4300G (Renoir) APU in mid-2020. The quad-core Zen 2 processor, which was an OEM-only SKU, has finally hit the retail market. Given its age, the Ryzen 3 4300G is far from competing with the best CPUs. However, if AMD prices drop low enough, it will definitely sell.

The Ryzen 3 4300G is an entry-level 7nm APU that uses a quad-core, 8-thread configuration with Zen 2 cores. The desktop chip has a base clock of 3.8 GHz, a boost clock of 4 GHz and 4 MB of L3 cache. However, the Ryzen 3 4300G has a configurable TDP (cTDP) ranging from 45W to 65W, making AMD’s Wraith Spire stock coolers or even half-decent alternatives perfectly satisfying.
