Anonymous accuses BAYC of trolling with esoteric symbolism, pushing ‘accelerationism’ agenda

A decentralized activist group, Anonymous, has released a new video detailing an investigation into the use of esoteric imagery in the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection, which began on August 14th.

In its latest video, the group claims that both BAYC and Yuga Labs were “unquestionably” complicit in deliberately branding their products with esoteric symbolism associated with Nazism and other extreme ideologies. said it does.

“At this point, I am beyond doubt that the Bored Ape Yacht Club and Yuga Labs brands are infected with not one or two, but dozens of esoteric symbolism and dog-whistling examples. I would like to announce that it reflects my support for Nazism, racism, simianization and pedophilia.”

An anonymous representative told CryptoSlate:

“Since last December, the accusations facing BAYC Collection are far more egregious than the fraud in the NFT space that week.”

The group hopes to shed light on the accusations and is calling for a period of further investigation and pardon as the community comes to address the “obvious invisible” trolling that Yuga Labs is accused of.

Yuga Labs denies the allegations.

June 24th, Yuga Lab It has filed a lawsuit against conceptual artists Ryder Ripps, Jeremy Cahen, and “Does 1-10.” Claims include false designations of origin, false advertising, cybersquatting, and trademark infringement.

Lips was created RR/BAYC weeks before the lawsuit was filed. It features the same images as the original his BAYC collection. He has always believed that the RR/BAYC collection pushes the boundaries of digital imagery as it relates to intellectual property and is more relevant to digital assets, and how these boundaries became a nascent and irreplaceable market. I’ve argued that it’s something that maintains how it intersects.

“My recent NFT work centers on provocation and exploration of the nature, provenance and digital ownership of NFTs. Provenance has always been a crucial aspect in establishing the meaning and value of artwork. ”

Lipps has since countered, and the lawsuit silence his claims That BAYC is associated with Nazism. For example, the BAYC logo resembles the coat of arms of the Waffen-SS elite unit Totenkov.

and medium postGordon Goner, aka Greg Solano, co-founder of Yuga Lab, said that given the team was made up of “Jewish, Turkish, Pakistani and Cuban friends,” it was “crazy.” It strongly denied the allegations of a “disinformation campaign.”

In response to the denial, Anonymous told CryptoSlate:

“If you’re looking for a starting point to understand how this is possible, there’s a phenomenon known as ‘multiethnic white supremacy’.

It’s important to understand that the accusations seen on Twitter about the BAYC collection seem to indicate a general sense of accelerationism rather than simple “racism.” “

When CrytoSlate asked Anonymous what their end goal was and why the group didn’t intend to pursue a “hacktivism” approach, the group responded:

“The key here is dialogue. Everyone has a threshold of ‘too much’ coincidence before something can be considered intentional.” “

Anonymous vowed to investigate

Anonymous has been investigating the allegations for several weeks and has concluded that the allegations cannot hold up as conspiracy theories. To take this issue further, they are trying to address:

  • Holders: Asking why so few people question the allegations. To that end, the group will focus on bringing awareness of the allegations specifically to “untapped markets” to warn new NFT collectors. said.
  • Investors/Supporters/Collaborators: Anonymous named multiple parties including Andreessen Horowitz, Mark Cuban, Tom Brady, Neymar Jr., Kevin Hart, Adidas, Coinbase, Tiffany & Co. and asked for an official response to the allegations.
  • Yuga Labs: Despite Goner’s Medium posts and other public denials, Anonymous has failed to clarify or take steps to “remove these associations” from the brand. I want to know if

“Did you think you could embed or inject these sick concepts just because you understand arcaneity and accelerationism better than the rest of the world?”

With that question, Anonymous challenged the BAYC founder Greg Solano and Wiley Aronow participated in a live debate with “Representatives We’ve Chosen” to discuss the concepts of esotericism and accelerationism.

The group has confirmed that it intends to take action only by shedding light on the issue, not hacktivism.
