Asus Dual and ProArt RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB Graphics Cards Revealed
The details of the Asus branded first GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB graphics card are explained on the company’s official product page.Twitter leaker earlier today momomo_us has been released link to both Asus Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Advanced Edition 16 GB GDDR6and the ProArt GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Advanced Edition 16 GB GDDR6. If you look through Asus’ site, you’ll see there are plenty more, as both Dual and ProArt cards have his OC or Standard edition choices. We’ve seen other brands unveil his 16 GB version of this Ada Lovelace AD106 based card so far, so let’s take a closer look at what ASUS has to offer.
Asus Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB
Here’s a more in-depth look at the Asus Dual series cooling solution. A relatively compact design among the RTX 40 series to date, it features two axial fans, 0dB technology, and a thickness of 2.5 slots. Whichever you buy, all features are the same, including his standard CUDA core count for this model, 16 GB of 18 Gbps GDDR6. The dimensions of this dual family are also all 227.2 x 123.24 x 49.6 mm (8.94 x 4.85 x 1.95 inches).
The difference only comes when considering the GPU boost clock. Check them out in this table.
Asus GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB |
Dual (standard) |
dual advanced edition |
Dual OC Edition |
---|---|---|---|
Default mode (MHz) |
2,535 |
2,550 |
2,595 |
OC mode (MHz) |
2,565 |
2,580 |
2,625 |
To illustrate the above, the expected reference GPU boost clock for the RTX 4060 Ti is 2,535 MHz. So unless you switch to OC mode or do some manual tinkering, the standard dual card seems to be the reference spec.
Asus ProArt GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB
These cards use the ProArt branded triple fan shroud for a sleek look. His ProArt cooler with three fans uses both 0dB and reverse center fan rotation technology. This big cooler is considered overkill for such a GPU (160W TDP), especially since it’s 2.5 slots thick in this example. These ProArt GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB Standard, Advanced and OC edition cards measure 300 x 120 x 50 mm (11.81 x 4.72 x 1.97 inches).
Here are the comparative specs of the three new Asus ProArt GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB graphics cards:
Asus GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB |
Pro Art (Standard) |
ProArt Advanced Edition |
Pro Art OC Edition |
---|---|---|---|
Default mode (MHz) |
2,535 |
2,550 |
2,655 |
OC mode (MHz) |
2,565 |
2,580 |
2,685 |
As with the dual model, you can see that ProArt’s standard model provides the reference GPU clock by default. The ProArt Advanced Edition features the same scaled boosts as the Dual Advanced Edition. However, the triple-fan cooler here finally makes a difference from the default/OC clock by pushing the needle a bit more than the dual. However, the difference between the slowest reference clock above and the fastest OC clock is only 5.9%, so it’s not worth paying extra for these GPU clocks. You can even do your own overclocking if you think it’s worth it.
Asus’ decision to use the standard single 8-pin auxiliary power connector for these dual and ProArt cards will probably be welcomed. This situation was not solidified until these product pages were published. MSI’s choice to use a 16-pin power connector on its GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB Gaming X Slim may have worried some.
These 16 GB VRAM Edition cards will be available on Tuesday, July 18th. Some industry insiders have warned that many SKUs should not be expected from Nvidia AIB due to perceived low consumer interest. Keep in mind that these RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB graphics cards will likely come with a $100 premium for the 8 GB model.
