Asus TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XT, XTX GPU Frequencies Revealed

With just over a week until the official release of the first crop of AMD Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 architecture, teasing, leaks and spills are starting to flow freely and quickly. Today Asus announced the default clocks and OC mode clocks for its upcoming models. TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XT OC (opens in new tab) When RX7900 XTX OC (opens in new tab) edition graphics card.
Critical spec details are welcome, but at the same time, these 3.6-slot behemoths with triple 8-pin power inputs are a relatively slim Twin-8-pin power AMD reference model.
In early November, Asus published a product page for its TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XT/X graphics card, but omitted information about GPU clock speeds. Since this is unlikely to be an error by Asus, other Radeon RX 7000 series graphics card makers such as PowerColor and Sapphire may follow suit soon with specs revealed.
So what about these third-party custom-designed Asus TUF GPU clocks? The best way to see and compare specs is with the table we’ve put together below.

Overclocking (OC) games and boost clocks on Asus TUF cards are not as exciting. Top Asus TUF OC speeds are at most about 9% faster than stock, often with a 4 or 5% improvement.
When the rumors of the RDNA 3 flagship first started swirling, some expected GPU clocks approaching 3 GHz. Hopes for RDNA 3 to hit this magical milestone in his GPU clocks were rekindled three weeks ago when AMD took a deep dive into its latest GPU architecture. However, based on expectations based on these powerful air-cooled Asus TUF design specs, such high GPU clocks may be limited to overclockers’ labs using extreme and exotic cooling.
We are just over a week away from the release of the Radeon RX 7900 XT/X GPUs from AMD. It’s unclear when the partners will announce custom designs, and question marks remain as to pricing for custom designs. The Asus TUF Gaming card is an ‘OC’ specimen, so it’s likely to cost more than the $899 and $999 reference spec prices of the RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX respectively. I hope you have enough supply for the first wave of enthusiasm.
