Coinbase documentary “COIN” to debut Oct. 7
Coinbase worked closely with Emmy-winning filmmakers Greg Kos Share the insider story behind building the first public cryptocurrency exchange.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong shared a trailer for COIN on Oct. 4, adding that the documentary was created to show the good, bad, and ugly sides of building a tech startup. .

Armstrong, who first read the Bitcoin whitepaper in 2010, reflected on the idea of ”making Bitcoin easier to use.” On June 20, 2012, he launched his Coinbase, making a leap forward to build a better financial system.
Seven years later, on April 14, 2021, Coinbase became the first cryptocurrency exchange to list on the Nasdaq after reaching a $100 billion valuation.
According to Armstrong, the COIN documentary shares his journey and demystifies what it takes to build a tech startup. It will also feature hardworking people working to build a fairer and freer global financial system.
By sharing his story, Armstrong hopes to inspire more people to harness the power of technology to build companies that solve real world problems.
