Cooler Master Launches Airflow-Focused PC Cases With Aggressive Front Ends
Cooler Master has unveiled two all-new CMP Series computer chassis focused on looks and high airflow while aiming to compete with the best PC cases of 2022. These cases come in standard ATX form. CMP520 MicroATX CMP320. Pricing and availability are private at this time.
The CMP 520 and 320 employ the same design language as Cooler Master’s more premium products. CMP510 Compress for a cheaper and simplistic design approach.
Both cases feature aggressively angled front panels and a full mesh front end for unrestricted airflow. Additionally, the 520 comes with three 120mm ARGB intake fans, while the 320 only comes with two, but supports the same fan layout as the 520. Tempered glass side panels are also standard.
One of the features adopted by these cases from the CMP 510 is a vented power supply shroud that allows the power supply to be oriented up or down as desired. It also improves airflow routing from the hard drive cage next to the PSU.
Cooler and fan support is also quite extensive, with dual 140mm or 120mm on top, three 120mm or two 140mm on the front, and a 280mm radiator option on the CMP 520.
Surprisingly, the micro-atx CMP 320 retains the same cooling setup as the 520 and supports triple 120mm fans on the front. However, due to space constraints, the front radiator support has been dropped to 240mm.
Other features worth mentioning are support for air towers up to 161mm on the (larger) CMP 520 and 163.5mm on the CMP 320. Following this same move, graphics card support is extended to 350mm on the 520 and 365mm on the 320.
The front I/O on both cases includes one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, one USB 2.0 port and one 3.5mm audio jack. Hard drive support extends to two 2.5/3.5 inch drive bays and two additional 2.5 inch drive bays for a total of four.
Based on the design language, we can estimate the price of these cases to be around $80 to $120 for cheaper models, depending on the price of the fan. This should put it within competitive distance against other popular cases such as the Phanteks P-series, G-series, Fractal Design Meshify 2 and NZXT H5-series, to name a few.
All of these cases have very similar cooling characteristics and have mesh front panels, so once we get both cases in the lab for testing, we’ll see if the CMP 520 and 320 stand out from the crowd. It would be interesting to
