Core i9-13900HX Raptor Lake Mobile CPU Outperforms 12900K in Geekbench

@BenchLeaks on Twitter We have shared the new Geekbench 5 benchmark results for Intel’s upcoming Core i9-13900HX Raptor Lake CPU. This mobile chip should be a monster with single-core and multi-core results beating Intel’s previous-generation best CPU, the desktop Core i9-12900K, at stock frequencies. When released, it will be the fastest mobile chip Intel has ever made.

Geekbench shows the 13900HX with 24 cores, 32 threads and 36MB of L3 cache. Differentiated core and thread counts mean that it uses the same configuration as its higher sibling i9-13900K with 8 P cores and 16 E cores. This is a significant upgrade over the i9-12900HX’s 8P+8E configuration and a big reason why the 13900HX can outperform the desktop 12900K in Geekbench’s multi-core benchmarks. Of course, there are other upgrades included with Raptor Lake, such as higher clock speeds.

I don’t know how much power it will consume or how much faster the clock speed will be, but I would expect it to be behave as well as 12900HX (opens in new tab) Its predecessor with a maximum boost of 5GHz and a maximum turbo power rating of 157W, with a base processor power of 55W.

This 13900HX sample scored 2,039 points on the single-core benchmark and 20,943 points on the multi-core benchmark. Geekbench 5 reference and comparison i9-12900K results At 1,987 and 17,319 points respectively, the 13900HX is 2.6% faster on the single-core result and a whopping 20.9% faster on the multi-threaded version.

Even Intel’s Core i9-12900KS Special Edition can’t outright beat the 13900HX. single core Gives a small percentage of results. To clearly exceed that, you’ll have to go to Geekbench for the Core i7-13700K. score.

AMD’s mobile Ryzen competitors also fall short of what Intel offers. Lenovo 82UH It scored just 1,638 points and 10,200 points in the single-core and multi-core benchmarks. Clearly, we’ll have to wait for AMD’s Ryzen 7000 mobile processors to compete in the mobile space.

Thankfully, it won’t be long before laptops with the i9-13900HX hit the market. Intel has already confirmed that Raptor Lake mobiles will launch before his 2023 date. But realistically, the Raptor Lake mobile parts could launch after CES 2023 due to other factors not related to Intel (like a reported labor shortage in China).
