Fox News Will Not Carry Thursday’s Jan. 6 Hearing Live

There is again a noticeable gap between cable news and network coverage across the wall of the January 6th Commission hearing on Thursday’s Golden Time: Fox News.

Fox does not hold live hearings, but instead reserves the most acclaimed times for the regular show lineup of Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham. Fox Business, the company’s sister network, will hold a live hearing from 8 pm, the company said in a statement.

Viewers of Fox News, the country’s most watched cable news network, will have to wait until midnight for a long discussion about night events. Anchor Shannon Bream dedicates her nightly show at the time to the topic.

Other prime-time hearings of the Commission last month were also not held live by Fox News. At that time, the network also broadcast a regular prime time lineup. Carlson explained to the audience that he would not indulge in the Commission’s “lie,” as he has experienced many times. Mr. Hanity dismissed the hearing as a “fake.”

Fox News broadcast a daytime hearing that was watched by millions of viewers. But at the time it wasn’t that big of a network. It was hidden in the assessments by CNN and MSNBC, but this rarely happens.
