hardware leaker Harukaze 5719 (opens in new tab) shared an Ada Lovelace die that will purportedly power Nvidia’s next-generation RTX 40-series mobile GPUs and their associated power targets. Most interestingly, the leak claims that Nvidia is ready with his GeForce RTX 4090 Mobile. This is the first time this model number has appeared in the mobile segment. But of course, leaked information should be tolerated.
leak (via REHWK (opens in new tab)) reveals a total of five GeForce RTX 40-series mobile GPUs, including the GeForce RTX 4090 Mobile, GeForce RTX 4080 Ti Mobile, GeForce RTX 4070 Mobile, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Mobile, and GeForce RTX 4060 Mobile. Additionally, the mobile variant of the GeForce RTX 4090 will reportedly use the AD103 die, while the GeForce RTX 4080 Ti will rely on the AD104 die while the AD106 silicon will match the GeForce RTX 4070 Mobile. Finally, the GeForce RTX 4060 mobile model could feature the AD107 die.
The GeForce RTX 4090 Mobile and GeForce RTX4080 Ti Mobile are said to peak at 175W while the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Mobile peaks at 140W. Unfortunately, the leaker didn’t provide the TDP for his GeForce RTX 4060 Mobile and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Mobile SKUs. If these numbers are accurate, the GeForce RTX 4090 should be a significant upgrade in the mobile realm, offering performance comparable to desktop GeForce RTX 3090 or GeForce RTX 3080 at just 175W. To maintain performance at these low TDPs, Nvidia may need to unlock all cores in his AD103 for maximum performance and efficiency.
As for the GeForce RTX 4080 Ti Mobile, due to the rumored AD103 to AD104 die change, we can expect a significant performance drop for this GPU compared to the GeForce RTX 4090 Mobile. The AD104 with all cores enabled has a 40% reduction in core count, so basically the GeForce RTX 4080 Ti Mobile becomes a mobile variant of the now-removed GeForce RTX 4080 12GB SKU. . However, since the mobile SKUs require a much lower TDP, clock speeds can vary significantly, so performance is highly dependent on clock speeds in the mobile segment. Due to the 40% reduction in core count in the AD103, the GeForce RTX 4080 Ti Mobile could have much higher clock speeds compared to the GeForce RTX 4090 Mobile.

Unfortunately, we don’t have enough details about the AD106 or AD107 to know how fast or slow the GeForce RTX 4060 (Ti) Mobile and GeForce RTX 4070 Mobile are. However, we expect it to perform significantly better than its GeForce RTX 30-series counterparts. What’s interesting, though, is that the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Mobile could be introduced very early in his mobile pipeline. Both the GeForce RTX 4060 Mobile and Ti variant GPUs use the entry-level AD107 die instead of the AD106. This is different from the 30 series model where the xx60 series cards work with his GA106 die.
AD107 is going to be a very powerful die with Ada Lovelace. I think it was because I was forced to lower it.
Overall, the Ada Lovelace mobile looks very powerful based on the power consumption targets and die models hinted at in the leak. With power targets, the GeForce RTX 4090 Mobile could match the gaming performance of a desktop GeForce RTX 3090 or GeForce RTX 3080. However, once Nvidia releases his GPUs, we will have to see the spacing between these GPUs. Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 40-series mobile GPUs power their targets 50% more effectively than their RTX 30-series desktop GPUs, which can have a big impact on performance. It all hinges on Ada Lovelace’s efficiency on TSMC 4n nodes at these “very low” power targets.
