Get paid by the second as token streaming looks to disrupt global liquidity

Payments could soon be streamed in real-time rather than paid monthly or weekly, according to the company. Maxim Desalleoperations leader Sabrierin a recent talk at EthCC.

Desalle explained the concept of “token streaming” from the perspective of Sablier, a company aiming to provide more time-efficient instant access to funds.

As Desalle explained, token streaming involves sending small payments continuously, like streaming movies or songs. Instead of getting paid every month, Sablier’s platform allows someone to get paid every second. Desal argues that this will reduce economic delays and waiting times.

Desalle said:

“There is a lot of waiting time in our economy…Spending businesses in our economy always wait for income to arrive before they start spending. can be used.”

He suggests streaming Sablier and competitors such as: superfluid and Ramapay, A “trustless payment mechanism” could be used to coordinate incentives between clients and freelancers, potentially solving freelancer problems. At the moment, the ecosystem is still small, and Sabrier sees a lot of room for growth.

Desalle said token streaming has potential use cases such as payroll, investments and airdrops. He highlighted the new version of Sablier. This allows custom his streaming curves beyond just linear streaming, allowing for exponential streams and traditional vesting schedules without manually configuring smart his contracts. Representing the stream as an NFT, Desalle suggested uses like renting for future income or selling the stream for instant access.

He envisioned a future of a fully liquid economy, where balances are ever-changing from different streams facilitated by platforms like Sabrier. Things like rent and subscriptions could be real-time streaming payments between nodes.

While the introduction of token streaming is an interesting concept, it can face hurdles such as volatility, taxation, and integration with legacy systems. But for workers who are currently living “paycheck to paycheck,” the potential benefits of instant liquidity are clear. Additionally, workers can put their money to work in real-time by allowing wages to be instantly transferred to savings, even before the end of the shift.

Decentralized finance is a fresh and innovative approach that challenges the status quo, disrupting traditional methodologies and systems, bringing about innovation, and demonstrating once again that we are aiming for a fairer and more equitable world.
