According to information on January 17, HashKey Capital announced its third fund, HashKey FinTech Investment Fund III, pledging a total investment of $500 million. Press release.
According to the announcement, Fund III will invest to advance cryptocurrency and blockchain initiatives globally, with a focus on emerging markets. As reported, a number of institutions, including sovereign wealth funds, corporations and family offices, provided strong support for the initiative.
Dr. Xiao Feng, Chairman of HashKey Group, said:
“Fund III follows time-tested investment principles while looking for game changers that will take the industry to the next level.”
The new fund will primarily invest in infrastructure, tools and applications with “massive adoption potential.” Additionally, according to a press release, Fund III will provide institutional-level access to all aspects of blockchain and cryptography.
Hashkey says it has managed more than US$1 billion in client assets since its inception in 2018. Asset managers include Cosmos, Coinlist, Aztec, Blockdaemon, dYdX, Animoca Brands, FalconX, Polkadot, Moonbeam, and Garce.
As part of multiple investments in the 2022 bear market, Hashkey Capital was also an investor in the $12.5 million Wallet Connect funding round last November.
