Jeff Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal, Steps Down After Inquiry

NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell leaves the company after an investigation into inappropriate relationships at work. His Comcast, the owner of the company, said in a statement on Sunday.

In a statement, Shell said today was his last day and that he “had an inappropriate relationship with a woman at the company.”

“I am truly sorry to have let my colleagues at Comcast and NBCUniversal down. They are some of the most talented people in the industry and it has been an honor to work with them over the last 19 years.”

Comcast’s brief statement did not specify who would replace Shell at NBCUniversal, which he will lead from 2020.
