The main attractions of this 44.5-inch diagonal, 32:9 aspect ratio screen are its double QHD (5120 x 1440) resolution panel and business-friendly USB-C docking with RJ45, KVM switch and pop-up webcam. is an additional feature of (H suffix models only).
Although focused on business, Philips uses curved panels. Perhaps we can’t complain as the 1500R profile helps keep this 5K display’s far distances within its peripheral vision range. Thank you.
Philips is making the all-too-familiar claim that its super widescreen can replace two separate monitors, eliminating the abrupt and unsightly center split you get with a real two-monitor setup. . The monitor also features modes such as PiP and PbP, supports up to two simultaneous connected devices, and has a convenient built-in KVM switch.
The 45B1U6900C offers excellent image quality specifications with a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and 450 nits peak brightness. It’s DisplayHDR400 certified, with an image color gamut of NTSC 107% / sRGB 123% and a Delta E value of less than 2. However, this monitor is not suitable for fast-paced games. It has a maximum refresh rate of 75 Hz (with adaptive sync) and a GtG response time of 4 ms. For text-heavy work, users will appreciate modes such as his Philips EasyRead and LowBlue.
This monitor offers a variety of connectivity options. For inputs, you can choose from HDMI 2.0 x 2, DisplayPort 1.4 x 1, or USB-C x 1 (Upstream, DP Alt Mode, Data, PD up to 100W). It has 6 inches (150mm) of height adjustment, -/+45 degree swivel, and -5/15 degree tilt, but no pivot. Alternatively, a 3rd party arm or stand (VESA 100) can be used for stable positioning, but you’ll need something stronger.
According to Philips, the 45B1U6900C is available immediately for £939.99 / €1,039. Note that these European prices translate to about $1,160, but include 20% of his VAT. So if no other pricing algorithm applies, the sticker price in the US could be close to $929.
