The future of OneAmericaNews, which has established itself as a strong voice in the conservative media by promoting some of the most eccentric falsehoods about the 2020 elections, has been removed from the lineup by major carriers and defamation lawsuits. By the end of this week, the cable network will lose its presence in about 20 million homes this year. The latest blow is from Verizon and will stop broadcasting OAN on Fios TV service from Saturday. In April, OAN was removed by AT & T’s DirecTV, which has about 15 million subscribers.
The rest of the OAN audience will be smaller. Scott Robson, senior research analyst at S & P Global Market Intelligence, said the network will soon be available only to hundreds of thousands of people with smaller cable providers such as Frontier and GCI Liberty. OAN also sells its shows directly to users through OAN Live and KlowdTV streaming platforms, but these products may provide some of the revenue generated by traditional TV providers.
“I really think this is a fatal blow to the network,” Robson said.
