Radeon Pro W7000 GPUs Debut With up to 48GB VRAM, Triple-Slot Blowers
announced by AMD 2 brand new Professional RDAN3 graphics card with up to 48GB memory and blower style cooler. The two models include the Radeon Pro W7900 and Radeon Pro W7800 with 96 and 70 compute units respectively. Both GPUs are designed for content creators and professionals who require high levels of computing power and memory capacity to drive high-performance workloads.
The Radeon Pro W7900 is the top trim of the series at the moment, with 96 CUs, 12,288 Shader Cores and 48 GB of memory running on a 384-bit wide bus with a peak memory bandwidth rating of 864 GB/s . AMD rates this GPU with his FP32 performance of up to 61 TFLOPS and a total board power rating of 295 W. This GPU is the Pro version of the RX 7900 XTX with a comparable consumer core count and memory bus width. However, the most important difference with the W7900 is the huge 48GB memory capacity, which allows you to perform more professional work compared to the 7900 XTX.
The clock speeds are unknown, but due to the W7900’s lower board power rating and integrated triple-slot blower style cooler, we expect the base and boost clocks to be noticeably lower compared to the reference RX 7900 XTX.
The Radeon Pro W7800 is a mid-range part with 70 CUs, 8960 shader cores, 32 GB of memory and a 256-bit bus with 576 GB/s memory bandwidth. AMD rates this GPU at up to 45 TFLOPS of his FP32 computing performance and a TBP rating of 260W. This is a mid-range GPU with a full tier downgrade in GPU specs across the board, with fewer shader cores than the RX 7900 XT. However, GPUs still offer a ton of compute power and 32 GB of video memory, making them ideal for memory-sensitive workloads.
AMD didn’t mention clock speeds and cooler types, but expect the card to feature a blower-style cooler like the W7900, albeit with a reduced dual-slot form factor. there is
What’s interesting about the W7800 is that it gives us a glimpse of what the consumer version might look like. The W7800 is the first his RDNA3 midrange GPU announced by AMD so far and it shows what memory bus sizes and core counts AMD is targeting for their upper end midrange GPUs. If the core count and memory specs match exactly like the W7900 and RX 7900 XTX, we can expect the future RX 7800 or 7800 XT to have 8960 cores and a 256-bit bus.
The Radeon Pro W7900 and W7800 are available now and these cards should start appearing in OEM and SI systems later this year. The W7900 will be priced at $3,999 and the W7800 will be priced at $2,499.
