RTX 4090 Falls 70 MHz Short of Breaking 4 GHz Barrier
If there’s one thing the PC community does well, it’s pushing hardware performance to new heights. Today we are happy to share some impressive benchmarks from users such as: sensor at HWbot. CENS has sped up the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU to a whopping 3,930 MHz. This card is one of the best graphics cards out there with better boost clock speeds. 2,520MHz It was already famous for its chart-topping fast performance.
We reviewed the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, which debuted in October 2022, and were thoroughly impressed with its performance, dubbed the ‘queen of the castle’. Thanks to the breakthrough performance of Nvidia’s Ada Lovelace architecture, this is arguably the fastest GPU on the market. Despite being noticeably faster already, users are still keen to push GPUs beyond the commercial limits.
Understanding how CENS broke the 3,900 MHz barrier will help us know exactly what hardware he used for this record-breaking benchmark. According to CENS, he did it using his Z790 motherboard with his Intel Core i9-13900K processor featuring his Raptor Lake-S architecture. This rig also had 32 GB of his DDR5-4300 and was kept cool with a liquid nitrogen cooling system.
Records show that the new fast speeds are 46 seconds and 383 milliseconds, fluctuating between 2.63 GHz and 3.93 GHz. This is the highest GPUPI benchmark achieved by the RTX 4090 on record with HWbot. GPUPI, unlike 3DMark, is not the most graphics-intensive benchmark. However, it’s a significant feat, as it’s the first time a graphics card has come this close to 4 GHz.
