Shifting distribution trends among bitcoin ‘whale’ holders

quick take

Looking at Bitcoin from a cohort perspective, it now looks strikingly similar to the period after the SVB collapse in March. The pattern of accumulation and distribution among various groups of Bitcoin holders seems to be repeating.

In recent weeks, “whale” holders (those holding more than 10,000 bitcoins) have engaged in the circulation process. In contrast, most other cohorts are starting to show signs of accumulation after long periods of massive distribution.

In particular, the lower cohort holding between 1,000 and 10,000 Bitcoins shows a return to aggressive accumulation. This is the first time such a trend has been seen since the collapse of the SVB.

Based on these patterns, the market trend seems to be leaning toward leveling off and accumulation as the summer vacation season approaches. This development creates exciting dynamics for Bitcoin holders and potential investors alike.
