As video cards (opens in new tab) As recently discovered, TeamGroup is preparing a new high-end DDR5 memory kit that will compete with the best RAM on the market. The company’s T-Force Delta RGB gaming memory hit DDR5-7200 with pretty tight timing.
Many vendors already offer DDR5-6600 memory kits, but none have broken the DDR5-7000 mark. So the T-Force Delta RGB DDR5-7200 is the fastest retail memory kit out there right now. Newegg listed memory kits $349.99 (opens in new tab), not yet available for purchase. However, some brands charge the same amount for his DDR5-6600 memory kits, so the price isn’t bad.
T-Force Delta RGB DDR5-7200 (FF3D532G7200HC34ADC01) is a dual channel memory kit consisting of two DDR5 16GB memory modules with a total capacity of 32GB. TeamGroup has binned the memory kit to run at DDR5-7200 (PC5-57600). Unfortunately, Newegg didn’t list the full timings for their memory kits. All I know is that the CAS Latency (CL) is set to 34. If I had to guess, tRCD and tRP could be in his 40s range.
Newegg didn’t provide any hint as to what DRAM voltage the memory kit would need to reach DDR5-7200. I suspect you need at least 1.4V to reach that data rate. TeamGroup had previously used his M-die integrated circuits (ICs) from SK hynix for his other T-Force Delta RGB products. However, Korean chip makers’ second-generation A-die ICs are already on the market. Early reviews have shown promising overclocking abilities, with A-die easily surpassing his DDR5-7000 barrier. So it’s plausible that the T-Force Delta RGB DDR5-7200 is leveraging the new A-die IC. However, we won’t know for sure until we get the memory kit in the lab.
AMD’s Zen 4 processors and Intel’s 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors will utilize DDR5 memory. AMD has confirmed that his DDR5-6000 is the sweet spot for Zen 4, but the jury is still out on Raptor Lake. Nonetheless, the T-Force Delta RGB DDR5-7200 will truly appeal to enthusiasts looking for the ultimate in performance, and $349.99 doesn’t have to throw your house out the window.
