Tesla Holiday Update Brings Steam Games to Model S and X EVs
The latest versions of Tesla’s Model S and Model X electric vehicles with 10 TFLOPS infotainment systems are capable of playing thousands of games on the in-car display.Tesla CEO Elon Musk first promised Steam integration earlier this year, and on Wednesday, the company finally brought Valve’s gaming platform to select vehicles.

for now, games confirmed to work with Valve’s Steam Deck will also work on Tesla Model S and X (model year 2022 and newer) with 16 GB of memory and premium connectivity. The holiday update introduces Apple Music and Zoom apps for the first time, along with Steam integration. All Teslas come with Dog Mode, which sets the air conditioning to a comfortable temperature for your pet as you enter the store and presents the current temperature to passers-by via a central display. With the holiday update, you can now use the onboard camera to check on your pet in the Tesla app on your phone.
Having Steam in your car may not seem like a big deal, since it’s not a primary feature of the vehicle. But by enabling Steam in electric cars, Tesla is taking infotainment to a new level, essentially changing what users typically expect from in-car infotainment.
