Uniswap V3 will become the most popular Ethereum contract in 2022, taking first place in terms of total gas used throughout the year.

Uniswap V3 consumed over 2.8 million gas in 2022, according to Dune Analytics data. That’s more than three times his amount of gas consumed on Uniswap V2, indicating that users flocked to his latest iteration of DEX.

Uniswap V2 reversed 17% of transactions. This is the highest percentage among all the most popular Ethereum contracts.

The decentralized exchange recorded a total of 15.5 million transactions this year, surpassing OpenSea’s Seaport NFT Marketplace and OpenSea itself. With over 1.5 million unique addresses, Uniswap V3 ranks higher than any other Ethereum dApp.

Only simple Ethereum transfers consumed more gas than V3 this year, with over 3 million gas spent on over 141.6 million transactions. Tether’s USDT made 27.7 million trades this year, consuming 1.4 million gas, while Circle’s USDC made 10.4 million trades and he consumed 572,000 gas.

Hayden Adams, founder of Uniswap Labs, the company behind the popular DEX, said: celebrated Uniswap success:

“It is great that Uniswap V3 was the most used contract on Ethereum in 2022.”

Adams said the decentralized exchange V2 is still among the top five most used contracts on Ethereum. He said that updating routing and liquidity has greatly improved the user experience on dApps, reducing transfer return rates in half for He V3 compared to V2.

“It’s also cool to see V3 transactions fail half as often as V2, which shows the benefit of centralized liquidity and all the routing improvements we’ve made.”

The popularity of Uniswap has made the parent company a unicorn this year. In September, sources close to the company revealed that Uniswap Labs was preparing a $100 million funding round to expand its offering. We speculated that Uniswap Labs would be valued at $1 billion.

However, the company’s $165 million funding round It surpassed expectations in October, with a valuation of over $1.66 billion.
