Watch Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman Reunite in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is facing an attack on New Asgard by Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale). Not only does he have the help of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), but he also has the help of powerful projectiles that scatter in the air and take out Gore’s creatures. Those projectiles turned out to be fragments of Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, which he last saw when destroyed by Hera (Cate Blanchett) in “Thor: Ragnarok”. The pieces are reconstructed throughout, but Mjolnir is now used by a new figure that closely resembles Thor’s costume.

It turns out to be Thor, or Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), and the scene becomes a passionate reunion on multiple fronts.

Director Taika Waititi discussed how he tried to perform both the action and the comedy of the moment, emphasizing Thor’s self-doubt.

At the beginning of the movie, Thor “experiences a lot of anxiety trying to find himself,” Waititi said.

So when Thor appeared, Waititi said, “He doesn’t know who he is, he’s looking at someone else dressed like him,” so at that moment Is challenging for Thor.

This scene is also the reunion of stars Hemsworth and Portman, who haven’t participated in the franchise since “Thor: The Dark World” (2013).
