Alienware Rolls Out More Affordable 34-inch QD-OLED WQHD Gaming Monitor
Dell made a big splash in the gaming monitor space with the release of the Alienware AW3423DW earlier this year. We were impressed with the gorgeous QD-OLED display, wide color gamut, excellent contrast and 175Hz panel. Hands-on review of AW3423DWHowever, the $1,299 price tag is probably beyond the budget range of many gamers. So today Alienware is announcing a new member to the family. The similarly named he is the AW3423DWF, and the price he is slightly lower at $1,099.
AW3423DWF features a 34 inch WQHD (3440 x 1440) QD-OLED panel with a GtG response time of 0.1ms and an R-curve of 1800R. This means that color uniformity, wide color gamut, and pure blacks are perfectly valid. However, the maximum refresh rate has decreased slightly from 175Hz to 165Hz.
Additionally, the AW3423DW’s white and black design has been replaced by an all-black motif on the AW3423DWF (Alienware calls the color Dark Side of the Moon). Likewise, it has a slim overall footprint to accommodate those with limited desk space.
