AMD Launches RX 7600M GPUs: Mobile RDNA 3 With RTX 3060 Performance
AMD has announced new Radeon RX 7600M and Radeon RX 7000S graphics cards for laptops. Mobile RDNA 3 graphics cards, powering performance gaming and thin and light devices respectively, will hit the market in February.
The Radeon RX 7600M and Radeon 7000S series use the integrated RDNA 3 compute unit with RT and AI accelerators. In addition, it supports AV1 encoding and decoding, as well as AMD’s new smart technology. At the silicon level, the Radeon RX 7600M and Radeon 7000S series feature a 204 mm² die, which is part of TSMC’s 6nm process node.
The Radeon RX 7600M XT targets 1080p (1920×1080) high frame rate gaming laptops. It uses 32 compute units, equivalent to 2,048 shader processors, and delivers up to 32 TFLOPs of FP32 performance. The graphics power range for the Radeon RX 7600M without AMD SmartShift is 75W to 120W.
The Radeon RX 7600M, on the other hand, checks in with 28 compute units, just four less than the XT variant. The graphics card isn’t far behind the Radeon RX 7600M XT as it offers 28 TFLOPs of FP3 performance. Due to its low core count, the Radeon RX 7600M can play within the power range of 50W to 90W.
AMD equips the Radeon RX 7600 series with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, a 128-bit memory interface, and 32MB of Infinity cache. Only the memory speed differs between the two models. The Radeon RX 7600M XT has 18 Gbps of memory, while the Radeon RX 7600M is fixed at 16 Gbps.
But it wasn’t just about RDNA 3. Instead, AMD has added his three new SKUs to the company’s existing RDNA 2 Radeon RX 6000M lineup, the Radeon RX 6550M, Radeon RX 6450M, and Radeon RX 6550S.

The Radeon RX 7000S offering is almost identical to the Radeon RX 7600M series. The Radeon RX 7700S and RX 7600S have exact core counts and memory configurations. The differentiating factor is the power limit. The Radeon RX 7700S has a power range of 75W to 100W compared to the 75W to 120W limit of the Radeon RX 7600M XT. AMD, on the other hand, rates the Radeon RX 7600S at 50W to 75W instead of the 50W to 90W range of the Radeon RX 7600M.
According to AMD, the Radeon RX 7600M XT is 18% to 39% faster than the previous Radeon RX 6600M. According to the chipmaker’s results, the Radeon RX 7600M XT outperforms Nvidia’s desktop GeForce RTX 3060 by 7% to 37%. On average, it’s over 31% faster. Surprisingly, AMD has not provided any benchmarks for the Radeon RX 7600M, so its performance remains a mystery for now.
The Radeon RX 7700S also offers a significant upgrade from the Radeon RX 6700S. AMD’s tests show improvements from 13% up to 40%.
The Radeon RX 7600M and Radeon RX 7000S series support AMD’s Smart Technologies such as SmartShift, which balances power between the processor and the graphics card, and SmartAccess, which allows the processor to utilize the graphics card’s memory. AMD also introduced SmartShift RSR, an upscaling technology that is decoupled from the graphics card.
