AOC Launches 45-inch Dual QHD, 165Hz Gaming Monitor

With the popularity of large format ultra-wide gaming monitors beginning to explode, AOC Agon AG455UCXAOC uses a large 44.5 inch VA panel with 5120×1440 (DQHD) resolution, slightly smaller than the existing 49 inch DQHD monitor. This resolution is also featured in the 49-inch Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 and 49-inch MSI 491C, but these monitors use quantum dot OLED panels.

In this large monitor, AOC employs 1500R curvature to enhance immersion, and the viewing angle is typically 178 degrees (horizontal and vertical). However, gamers will likely be sitting in front and center of this display and won’t share it as they can experience light/color falloff towards extreme angles with the VA panel.

Designed to compete with the best gaming monitors, Agon AG455UCX features a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. The monitor is listed as supporting AMD FreeSync, but I believe it also supports Nvidia G-Sync. Typical contrast ratio is 2,400:1 and maximum is 3,000:1. Brightness tops out at 400 nits, which is average for a VA panel of this size.

In terms of connectivity, AOC equips the Agon AG455UCX with three HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port and a USB-C connector (DisplayPort Alt-Mode compatible). It also includes a 4-port USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub for connecting all your peripherals. Rounded out is an integrated KVM switch and dual 5-watt speakers.
