ASRock Unveils X670E Taichi and Taichi Carrara Edition Motherboards

At Computex 2022 in Taipei, Taiwan, ASRock lifted some lids on the X670E motherboard designed for AMD’s next Ryzen 7000 series processor. The first two of ASRock’s socket AM5 motherboards include the X670E Taichi and the special edition X670E Taichi Cararra. Both X670E Taichi boards look different, but they share the same core feature set, including PCIe 5.0, DDR5 memory, and support for dual Thunderbolt 4-compatible USB Type-C ports on the back panel.

The ASRock Taichi series is one of the most popular premium models in the lineup. For years, Taichi’s aesthetic brought gears to the design, and the Z590 Taichi for Intel’s 11th Generation Core series also included electric gears integrated into the rear panel cover.

The only difference between the ASRock X670E Taichi and the X670E Taichi Cararra is the design. The regular X670E Taichi is mainly finished in black, with a bronze-like trim on the left side of the board and an RGB LED built into the heatsink of the chipset.

The X670E Taichi Cararra is based on the Italian Carrara marble. Carrara is white and has been used for many years in ancient Roman architecture due to its elegance and strength. Designed to celebrate ASRock’s 20th anniversary, ASRock does not specify whether the number of Cararra editions will be limited as in the Aqua series or higher than the regular X670E Taichi.

In terms of functionality, both models of the ASRock X670E Taichi boast a 26-phase power supply that is being advertised. This is very impressive. Other features include DDR5 memory, dual full-length PCIe 5.0 slots (x16, x8 / x8), one PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot, three PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots, and support for eight SATA ports. It is included.

The Realtek ALC4082HD audio codec and ESS Sabre ES9218 DAC power the rear panel onboard audio solution, while the Killer E3100G 2.5GbE controller and Killer AX1675 Wi-Fi 6E provide a strong network connection. For connectivity, ASRock includes dual Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, 5 USB 3.2 G2 Type-A, and 3 USB 3.2 G1 Type-A ports.

Currently, ASRock has not disclosed the price of X670E Taichi and X670E Taichi Cararra Edition motherboards, but expects to get closer to AMD’s Ryzen 7000 processor scheduled for fall.
