Cardano’s Vasil upgrade will happen on Sept. 22

Cardano (ADA) parent company Input Output (IOHK) has confirmed that the long-awaited Vasil upgrade will take place on September 22nd.

According to IOHK, the Vasil upgrade is the most significant update to the blockchain network as it will bring increased network capacity and lower transaction costs.

“This upgrade also brings enhancements to Plutus to help developers create more powerful and efficient blockchain-based applications,” the company continued.

Input Output has revealed that it has received assurances from stake pool operators (SPOs) and the Dapp community that the Vasil upgrade will be ready by September 22nd.

The announcement also revealed that most of the major exchanges have started their update process — Binance has already started updating its Cardano node.

The company said it “expects a seamless technology transition without user disruption or block production interruptions.”

Vasil’s delay in upgrading has spooked the community with claims that the blockchain network operates in a “silent culture.”

Cardano developer Adam Dean said the Vasil testnet is “catastrophically Broken” with another developer Sebastien Guillemot When talking about development roadblocks, Cardano developers say they are confused.

At the time of writing, Cardano’s ADA was trading at $0.45 after gaining 0.51% over the past 24 hours.
