If you need a very large amount of memory, Corsair has everything you need. Memory specialists have expanded their Vengeance DDR5 portfolio with new 48GB (2x24GB) and 96GB (2x48GB) memory kits that rival the best RAM on the market.
Gone are the days when only workstations and server platforms could access large amounts of memory. Intel’s latest 13th Gen Raptor Lake consumer chips are among the best CPUs available, natively supporting up to 192GB of memory on a 4-slot Intel 600-series or 700-series motherboard. This was made possible with the introduction of 24Gb dies, a 50% increase in capacity compared to his first 16Gb dies. His new 24Gb die will allow memory vendors to manufacture 24GB and 48GB memory modules.
This is an exciting development as even a low cost motherboard with only 2 memory slots can have 96GB of memory. This was not possible prior to DDR5. Logically, the maximum capacity is 192GB on mainstream motherboards with four memory slots, and on workhorses with 16 memory slots, such as the W790-powered motherboards debuted with Intel’s recently announced Xeon W Sapphire Rapids processors. Station products increase up to 768GB.

The new 48GB and 96GB memory kits are derived from the Vengeance and Vengeance RGB memory lineup. Logically, the latter carries a slight premium for the extra eye candy. Corsair only offers 48GB and 96GB memory kits in DDR5-5200 and DDR5-5600 flavors. Running large DIMMs is already taxing the processor’s integrated memory controller (IMC), so Corsair kept data rates more traditional to ensure maximum compatibility. Additionally, binning higher data rates takes longer. DDR5 pricing is already expensive as is, and at that capacity, the resulting memory kits cost an arm and a leg.
The DDR5-5200 memory kits come with 38-38-38-84 timings, while the DDR5-5600 variants have timings set to 40-40-40-77. Regardless of data rate, the memory kit only pulls 1.25V and supports XMP 3.0.
Corsair has yet to officially announce the Vengeance 48GB and 96GB memory kits.However, retailers PCs Canada (opens in new tab) I have already listed them. It’s common knowledge that computer hardware is more expensive in Canada, so keep that in mind when considering pricing. The official announcement is probably not too far away, so the official US MSRP should be available soon.
The cheapest DDR5-5200 48GB memory kit starts at $192.48. Meanwhile, the faster DDR5-5600 variant drops the price by as much as $204.51. In terms of 96GB capacities, we’re looking at $392.64 for DDR5-5200 and up to $404.53 for DDR5-5600. It’s easy to see that these memory kits aren’t for everyone. However, some consumers can make good use of 96GB of memory, while others want flexibility.
