Hidden Ryzen 9 7950X3D and 7900X3D Listings Surface on Newegg
AMD’s line of 3D V-Cache enabled Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs won’t launch until Tuesday, February 28th, but Newegg has already hidden listings for both the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D on their site ( @momomo_us (opens in new tab)). Both listings show as out of stock, and neither appears in Newegg’s internal search. There could also be a listing stub for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. This is also due to be released on Tuesday, but I haven’t been able to find it.
These listings shouldn’t be particularly surprising since the chip was announced a few weeks ago and had a launch date. Newegg doesn’t list prices on these pages, but we already know the suggested retail prices for the three chips are $699, $599, and $449 respectively. We already know a lot about these upcoming CPUs, and are looking to learn more. Rumor has it that he posted a review of these chips on February 27th. We also know that the chip will consist of his two CCDs (core chiplet dies) with halves of the core. One core has 3D V-Cache, perfect for gaming. On the other hand, another core without 3D V-Cache can achieve higher clock speeds.
Some benchmark scores have also been leaked, some of which show the Ryzen 9 7950X3D outperforming the Core i9-13900K by an average of 11%, pairing both chips with an Nvidia RTX 3090, A set of five games was tested. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, AMD’s flagship chip won by a whopping 35% margin.
The chips start with the $449 Ryzen 7 7800X3D with 8 cores, 16 threads and 104MB of cache followed by the 12 cores, 24 threads and $599 Ryzen 9 7900X3D with its 140MB of cache. The Ryzen 9 7950X3D is the flagship with 16 cores, 32 threads and 144MB of cache, with a whopping MSRP of $699.

In preparation for the launch of the 7000X3D CPUs, motherboard vendors are testing BIOS updates that allow them to set the CCD priority. (opens in new tab)for different tasks. A beta version of his BIOS for Asus’ X670 motherboard appeared online last week.
If you’re looking to build or upgrade a PC, these chips might be for you. I will withhold final judgment until I have the opportunity to do my own testing.
