Petersen explained that Intel has implemented a three-tier strategy for game optimization for ArcAlchemist graphics cards. Tier 1 contains titles that work exceptionally well in Arc. Tier 2, on the other hand, includes titles that aren’t optimized, but are based on the latest APIs such as DirectX 12 and Vulkan. These games should work pretty well. The biggest concern for gamers are titles that fall into the Tier 3 category. Arc graphics cards perform poorly for Tier 3 titles that support DirectX 11 and earlier versions of the game.

The Arc A770 provided about 80 FPS during the DirectX 12 benchmark. However, with DirectX11, the graphics card could only output 40 FPS. Intel has confirmed that there are no plans to release the ArcA780 to include the flagship banner on the ArcA770. The Arc A770 may be comparable to the GeForce RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6500XT. Desktop Ark will be on the shelves in the third quarter of this year, so it’s easy to see.
