Jak Knight, Known for ‘Big Mouth’ Netflix Series, Dies at 28

Stand-up comedian, writer and actor Jak Knight, known for his role in Netflix’s anime series “Big Mouse,” died Thursday in Los Angeles. He was 28 years old.

His family on Saturday confirmed his death in a statement that did not provide a cause of death.

Knight recently finished filming as an actor Movie “First Female Director” Written and directed by Chelsea Peretti.

Since March, Knight has starred in the Peacock series “Bust Down,” along with Chris Red, Sam Jay, and Langston Kerman. He is also the executive producer of HBO’s talk show “Pause with Sam Jay,” and was nominated for the Writers Guild of America Award for his work at the show this year.

From 2017 to 2009, he was the writer and producer of the hit anime sitcom “Big Mouse” and spoke out the character Devon. Knight has been working as a writer for the ABC comedy “Blackish” since 2019-20. His 30-minute Netflix stand-up special aired in 2018 as part of the “Comedy Lineup” series.

He is a newcomer to the 2014 Comedy Central Comic to Watch, the 2015 Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, and LA comics to see on Time Out in 2018..

He opened for a variety of owarai tarento such as Dave Chappelle, Joel McHale, Eric Andre, Moshe Cashier, Hannibal Bares and more.

Details about his surviving relatives were not immediately available.

As the news of his death spread, a tribute to Mr. Knight appeared on social media.

Comedian James Adomian Said on twitter Whenever he played with Mr. Knight, he knew it would be a “very interesting night.”

“He had a big win, all of which was natural, witty and memorable, both on stage and off,” he wrote.
