MSI Launches GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X GPUs

The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is still one of the best graphics cards for gamers, so it’s no wonder MSI hasn’t given up on it.company (via HKEPC (opens in new tab)) has launched the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X 8GD6X in its regular factory overclocked form for the Chinese market.
While the name might give the impression of an unannounced graphics card, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X 8GD6X is a reheated version of the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GDDR6X. Nvidia quietly gave his regular GeForce RTX 3060 Ti a minor upgrade last year, bringing the memory of his three-year-old GA104-based graphics card up to date with his GDDR6X standard. Unfortunately, individual reviews indicate that the GDDR6X variant is slightly faster than the original. Nevertheless, both versions continue to exist, although many retailers mostly carry the new GDDR6X version of him.
The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X 8GD6X appears to feature MSI’s distinctive Suprim cooler with brilliant RGB lighting (in case you’re in doubt there’s a large Suprim logo on the backplate). Oddly enough, the company preferred to market his Ampere-powered card as the “Super 3X.” This refers to a triple fan cooling solution. The Suprim series used to be MSI’s exclusive lineup of top-of-the-range models, so it’s strange to see it on the mainstream GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. The only explanation we can think of is that MSI must have a large inventory of his Suprim coolers that need to be removed somehow.
The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X 8GD6X pushes clock speeds up to 1,755 MHz, while the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X 8GD6X OC can easily reach 1,845 MHz. The reference GeForce RTX 3060 Ti comes with a boost clock of 1,665 MHz. So the standard version has a 5.4% higher boost clock, while the OC version shows a margin of 10.8%. That’s a decent factory overclock, but nothing to drool over, especially since the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio 8GD6X already offers consumers the same boosted clock speeds as the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X 8GD6X OC is not. MSI is probably just running out of their remaining inventory at this point in the game.
However, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio 8GD6X has a footprint of 323 x 140 x 56 mm, while the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X 8GD6X measures 335 x 140 x 62 mm. The graphics card is longer and thicker than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio 8GD6X thanks to the larger Suprim cooler.
The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X 8GD6X has a TDP of 265W (similar to the overclocked model). This means that both graphics cards require two 8-pin PCIe power connectors for external power, and the 600W minimum power recommendation is still valid.
MSI has not yet shared pricing or availability of the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X 8GD6X.
