NexPad Laptop Screen Extender Now Available for $249
NexPad portable touch monitors and laptop screen extenders were originally scheduled to ship in July, but now Available Available from NexDock.com for $249.
Nex Computer LLC advertises NexPad as a solution for both laptop and smart device users. The first suggested use case seems a bit odd to use the NexPad. As a partner screen for laptops, the NexPad is primarily designed to add a display. Moreover Existing laptop panel.
This is a great alternative to side-by-side implementations, according to Nex Computer. Elevated use of the second display “reduces neck strain, improves posture, and increases productivity and convenience,” he says. While there’s no doubt that extra screen space helps with productivity, Nex Computer doesn’t back up its claims of neck strain and improved posture with data or testimonials.
NexPad attaches to the top edge of your laptop’s screen using a kickstand and magnetic design. The product spec sheet doesn’t list any compatibility requirements, so it should work with any laptop, large or small. At 12 inches, his NexPad is relatively small for a portable monitor, but its mounting system and purported advantages sound interesting. It also adds touchscreen capabilities that many laptops lack.

What stands out in terms of specs is that 736g seems quite heavy for a 12-inch dumb tablet with a built-in battery. Adding such a heavy mass to a laptop monitor can feel unbalanced. Nex Computer does not provide specifications for brightness, contrast, color gamut, etc.
with NexPad smartphone
Using the NexPad with a smartphone is just as interesting as working with a laptop. In the image you can see that the phone is expected to be a USB-C cable tethered to a magnetic “jaw” under the screen area. If it’s only slightly magnetic, Nex Computer discreetly includes a metal disc in the pack so you can stick it to the back of your phone or add it to your phone case. Adding a metal disc provides a solid bond between the device and his NexPad “jaw.”
Currently, it is not possible to use a screen connected to a smartphone in desktop mode. Supported Used by some Samsung and Motorola devices, this type of extension is growing.
Nex Computer last time graced the news section with its NexDock dumb laptop, Nex Monitorlike a 27-inch NexPad on a desktop stand.
