Thursday’s National Hockey League publication Partnership with NFT Marketplace Sweet. This partnership marks the league’s first dive into digital collectibles.

The partnership with NHL players and alumni will go live in October to commemorate the beginning of the 2022-2033 NHL season.

NHL Marketplace

The NFT Marketplace is expected to offer a variety of experiences to NHL fans. Includes historic moments, game highlights of the past and present seasons, and digital merchandise that showcase the top play of NHL stars.

The marketplace also has a gamed collection experience, special packs, and a 3D interactive trophy room where users can view their collections. Some of these products are also dynamic NFTs designed to make changes based on current team data.

In addition, fans can buy, sell, collect and trade collectibles on the market.

However, the announcement did not say which blockchain would host the marketplace.

Sports space NFT

The NHL has joined the long list of sports institutions that employ digital collectibles.

In 2020, the NBA partnered with Dapper Labs to launch TopShot NFT, a digital collection market. Similarly, the NFL has launched play and its own NFT games, but MLB will soon launch NFT games.

However, due to the extreme sellout of the crypto market, crypto companies have withdrawn from sports trading. This is because crypto companies are trying to float as the market continues to sell seriously.

FTX recently withdrew from the partnership agreement with the Los Angeles Angels. Similarly, sources suggest that the patch transaction between the NBA Washington Wizards and the crypto company has crashed.
