NZXT has announced the N7 Z790 ATX motherboard with LGA 1700 socket which is 12th and 13th gen ready. (opens in new tab) Intel CPU. The N7 Z790 has a clean look, is available in both black and white, and includes plenty of RGB connectors for setting up your light show of choice.

Based on the Z790 chipset for some of the best CPUs for gaming (opens in new tab)the N7 Z790 has many advanced features including 4x DDR5. (opens in new tab) Up to 128 GB of RAM and slots for Intel XMP 3.0 settings, plus a rated RAM speed of up to 6,000 MHz. Alongside the memory slots, there are two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots and two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, in addition to one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for GPU or SSD boot drives.
The M.2 slot supports three PCIe 4.0 units (one of which can also communicate with SATA M.2 drives) supporting x4 mode and an additional Key E socket for type 2230 Wi-Fi module and Intel CNVio devices provided in the form of However, the board itself supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. There are also six SATA 6Gb/s ports for all your hard drive needs.
Complementing the high-speed wireless is a 2.5G Ethernet port. The backplate of the board has a 2.5G Ethernet port and a pair of wireless antennas. Alongside them are two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C port. There are also two USB 2.0 ports for mouse and keyboard and one HDMI port for integrated graphics. Audio is provided in the form of an 8-channel solution with 5 analog audio jacks and an SPDIF output.
The internal connectivity is based on what you see on the backplate with additional USB 2.0 and 3.2 headers, AIO pump and Sys fan connectors, 4x NZXT RGB LED connectors and 2x 5V ARGB LED connectors. You also get a 16+1+2 DrMOS power phase design with a 2oz copper PCB.
The NZXT N7 Z790 board had a suggested retail price of $299.99, which was certainly higher than the NZXT N5 Z690 and also featured an additional M.2 socket. The N7 Z790 beats his N5 Z690 with an extra shield on the DDR5 RAM slots and the PCIe interface, but otherwise the boards are very similar. The N5 Z790 board has not yet been announced.
