Samsung’s 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 DQHD Gaming Monitor Hits Preorder for $2,200

The ultrawide gaming monitor market has exploded in recent years, and Samsung is making the most of it by releasing the 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9. Not only is Samsung using his OLED technology, which is praised for its jet blackness and rich colors, but it’s also using a rare dual Quad HD resolution (5120 x 1440). It has a 32:9 aspect ratio and provides plenty of horizontal space for displaying multiple documents side by side.
But the Odyssey OLED G9 is primarily gaming-focused, which is backed by a 0.03ms response time (gray to grey) and a 240Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support. As you might expect, the Odyssey OLED G9 uses Samsung’s quantum dot technology, resulting in a richer color palette and improved brightness than was already possible with traditional OLED panels. .
Samsung also claims that the Odyssey OLED G9 is DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified. However, typical brightness is 250 nit. As is the case with these giant ultrawide monitors, this is a curved panel that helps wrap content slightly around it. In this case it is the 1800R curve.
As for connectivity, Samsung equips the Odyssey OLED G9 with two HDMI 2.1 ports (one full size, one micro) and one DisplayPort 1.4 connection. There is also a USB hub for managing peripherals. Other features include dual 5-watt speakers along with CoreSync and Core Lightning+ for RGB enthusiasts.
Another important feature that comes with the monitor is the Samsung Gaming Hub. This allows you to access game streaming services like Nvidia GeForce Now and Xbox Game Pass directly from your monitor thanks to built-in Wi-Fi.
Samsung opened pre-orders for the Odyssey OLED G9 today, selling for $2,199 at Best Buy. Best Buy says pre-orders are expected to arrive on June 26th. Of course, Samsung is also offering monitors directly, and from today until June 25, he’s offering a $250 electronic gift card for each pre-order.
