Capcom 40th Anniversary Website Lets You Play Retro Games For Free

Capcom released capcom town This is a website commemorating the 40th anniversary of our founding.

It features playable retro games, development documentation, and countless callbacks to the company’s rich history.

Since its founding on June 11, 1983, Capcom has produced some of the most beloved, iconic and formative series in video game history, including the Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter series.

The newly created website lets you click through a fun, animated metropolis made up of colorful neighborhoods highlighting famous locations and scenes from Capcom’s history. Jill Valentine is seen being chased across the city by Nemesis, and characters from Capcom’s SonSon series are seen floating above the cityscape on a magical cloud.

Users can click on locations marked with pins to visit major attractions such as the Merch Factory where digital items such as Twitter icons can be downloaded. The newly established Digital City also houses a virtual museum containing the company’s development history, showcasing original artwork, development documents, videos, and music from classic and modern games as well.

Visitors can jump to the Retro Games section to see a number of classics such as versions of the first NES Mega Man game from 1987, Street Fighter 2 (SNES 1992), Mega Man 2 (NES 1988), Final Fight (SNES 1991) and many more. You can also play other titles. ), Rockman X (SNES 1994).

Meanwhile, in a towering skyscraper in the heart of Capcom Town, fans can learn more about the company’s leadership by reading bios and excerpts from interviews with CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto and COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto.

Capcom will host a 36-minute showcase on June 12th at 3pm PT. The showcase will feature news and updates on various games such as Exoprimal, Ghost’s Trick Phantom Detective, and Dragon’s Dogma 2.
