Sapphire Releases Cheaper, Slower RX 7900 XT Without Vapor Chamber

Sapphire has added one of the best graphics cards to its lineup, the new Radeon RX 7900 XT. The Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L arrives with a slightly improved exterior and cooling system.
The Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L features a design similar to the Radeon RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ Vapor-X available in the US market. However, the former has some important changes. The Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L doesn’t have the name Vapor-X. This means the graphics card does not utilize Sapphire’s vapor chamber to cool the GPU and memory. Instead, the Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L utilizes a standard copper baseplate. As a result, sapphire does not offer the same thermal performance, but is cheaper, which can reduce overall product costs.
The difference in cooling system does not affect the dimensions of the Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L. Similar to his flagship Radeon RX 7900 XTX Nitro + Vapor-X is his 3.5 slot monster with a length of 320 mm.
Sapphire also cuts a few corners with their RGB design. For example, the Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L has only one RGB strip on the shroud, while the Radeon RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ Vapor-X has two. However, even without the extra RGB lighting, the Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L still looks very attractive, so it doesn’t affect the attractiveness of the graphics card.
The Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L features the same boost clock speed of 2,450 MHz as the Pulse Radeon RX 7900 XT. The new cutdown variant offers slightly lower performance than the Radeon RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ Vapor-X. However, the Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L’s boost clock is only 4% lower than the Radeon RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ Vapor-X, so this margin is less significant.
The only thing that distinguishes the Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L from Sapphire’s other models is the difference in cooler and clock speeds. The graphics card continues to rely on three 8-pin PCIe power connectors for external power and offers three DisplayPort 2.1 outputs and one HDMI 2.1 port for display connectivity.
Sapphire’s cost-cutting measures allowed the vendor to drop the price of the Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L to $899 MSRP.Chinese media Commentary I found the Radeon RX 7900 XT 20G Ultra Platinum L for sale on JD.com for $898.88. The Radeon RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ Vapor-X retails for $970.23 in China. That’s a $71.35 difference, which basically equates to the cost of the extra RGB strip and vapor chamber being the same.
