Woman Testifies That Bill Cosby Kissed Her When She Was 14

Kimberly Barr testified on Friday that she was 14 when Bill Cosby invited her to a trailer for a movie set in Los Angeles in 1975 and started kissing.

Mr. Barr testified at a civil trial in Los Angeles. There, when Cosby was a teenager, she was sued by another woman, Judy Hughes, who accused her of sexually assaulting her.

Bar, now 61, said he met Cosby at a tennis tournament in Palm Desert that year and invited her to the set for the movie Let’s Do It Again in Los Angeles. .. Of being extra. While her mother and other members of her family were waiting outside her, he took her to a trailer to help fix her bow tie, where she grabbed her arms. She said she started kissing.

“I was stuck,” Barr told the court. “I was having a hard time trying to escape.”

When he let go, she said, “I walked down the stairs from the trailer right away,” and didn’t tell her family because she didn’t want to ruin the day for her family.

During the cross-examination, Cosby’s lawyer Jennifer Bonjan disputed her explanation, and after such a traumatic experience, she was showing Mr. Barr and her brother with him. I asked if I was able to store the photos at my parents’ house. Cosby. “Did you care that they were there?” She said.

Cosby spokesman Andrew Wyatt dismissed the testimony as fiction. “These are just claims made in support of Judy Hughes, whose claims are not at all true,” he said in an interview.

Mr. Hughes’ proceedings are the first civil proceedings accusing Mr. Cosby of being tried for sexual assault. In her proceeding, Hughes told Cosby at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles when she was 16 years old after she and her friend met him in the park where he was filming “Let’s Do It.” I say I was sexually assaulted, again. “The same movie he was working on when he met Mr. Barr.

Cosby invited Hughes and his friends to a tennis club a few days after the meeting, Hughes’ lawyer said. Hughes played a game in which he had to drink alcohol every time he won the billiards. I chased him into the Playboy Mansion in their car. When he got there, Mr. Hughes said, Mr. Cosby forced her to have sex with him in her bedroom.

Mr. Cosby denied that he had sexually assaulted Mr. Hughes, or any of the other women who appeared earlier in recent years to blame him for sexual misconduct.

More than 50 women have accused Mr. Cosby of being sexually abused. This was the first time Mr. Barr spoke publicly.

Huth’s lawyer called Margie Shapiro, 65, another witness who had already filed accusations in 2015 in an attempt to demonstrate Cosby’s patterns of behavior and abuse.

Shapiro testified that she was 19 years old in 1975 when she met her at the donut shop where Cosby worked and invited her to another movie set she was filming in Los Angeles. Later that day, they went to the Playboy Mansion, where he gave her her medicine and assaulted her, she said. She said they played pinball together in the game room of her mansion, and he offered her a pill after she lost. She remembered she woke up and said they were naked in bed and he was sexually assaulting her. “My next memory was foggy, but I was in a bare bed and Bill Cosby was naked in me,” she said.

She told her friend what had happened, but said she didn’t go to the police. “I went there on an agreement, I took a pill, and he’s him, I’m me,” she said.

Mr. Wyatt said Mr. Cosby denied all claims against him. In disagreeing with her explanation in court, Mr. Bonjan suggested that he was not working the morning when Mr. Shapiro said he had met Mr. Cosby. “He didn’t come to the donut shop that day, didn’t he?” She said. “He wasn’t in the donut shop that day either.”

Cosby’s legal team was expected to further cross-examine her on Friday.

Cosby’s lawyer said the proceedings changed his memory when Hughes met. He said it happened in 1974 at first, but he concluded at the age of 15, and more recently at the age of 16 in 1975. .. California law classifies 16 years old as a minor. In disagreeing with Huth’s explanation, Cosby’s lawyer suggested that she met when she was no longer a minor, a few years after she said.

In the opening remarks, his lawyer said that after meeting Mr. Cosby, he and a friend who took her to the Playboy Mansion stayed for hours, swimming in the outdoor pool and watching a movie. He pointed out and tried to damage the credibility of Mr. Hughes’ account.

A friend, Donna Samuelson, testified that Hughes was distraught and wanted to leave, but Samuelson persuaded her to stay.

Her proceedings in 2014 were largely pending while Pennsylvania prosecutors were pursuing Cosby for sexual assault.

Mr. Cosby’s 2018 conviction in that case was overturned by the Court of Appeals last year. The Court of Appeals ruled that the non-indictment agreement he made with the former prosecutor meant that Mr. Cosby should not have been indicted in this case. Cosby walked freely after serving almost three years in prison for three to ten years.

Mr. Cosby, 84, has no plans to testify and has not attended the first day of testimony, but his testimony testimony is expected to take place in court.

Huth, 64, who was present, intends to explain her to the jury.
